Editor's Note

This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

If you're a Chase Sapphire Reserve® (see rates and fees) or Chase Sapphire Reserve for Business℠ (see rates and fees) cardholder, you might be familiar with The Edit, Chase's premium collection of more than 1,000 properties bookable via Chase Travel℠.

If you haven't explored what you can reserve with The Edit, take a peek. Some of the properties are pricey — like Chilean desert oasis Tierra Atacama, which costs upward of $2,860 per night. Others are more affordable — like the Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami, which starts around $279 per night.

Your Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business include perks that offer real value and are easy to use. Cardholders can enjoy a $500 The Edit credit, and, in 2026, a $250 statement credit toward certain hotel bookings made through Chase Travel.

Here's what you need to know to maximize the value of The Edit credit featured on these two cards.

The Edit credit on Sapphire Reserve card details

Currently, the Edit credit on the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business (which applies to prepaid stays of at least two nights) can't be used all at once.

Cardholders automatically receive up to $250 in statement credits on qualifying purchases between Jan. 1 and June 30 and another $250 between July 1 and Dec. 31 each year. As long as you book a stay at a property from Chase's curated The Edit portfolio, you'll see the credit post within six to eight weeks, per Chase (though several TPG staffers have reported seeing similar credits post much sooner).

That changes starting Jan. 1, 2026, when the credit will no longer be split biannually. Instead, cardholders receive up to $500 in total statement credits to use, with a maximum of $250 per transaction.

This means you must book two separate prepaid stays of two nights or more — back-to-back — to receive the full $500 The Edit credit in one go.

If you don't have a need to max out this credit all at once, you'll end up with two separate $250 statement credits you can use at your leisure.

Also starting Jan. 1, 2026, Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business cardholders will receive up to $250 in statement credits on prepaid Chase Travel hotel bookings for stays with the following brands. (Two-night minimum required; must book by Dec. 31, 2026, to receive the credit.)

  • IHG Hotels and Resorts
  • Minor Hotels
  • Montage Hotels and Resorts
  • Omni Hotels and Resorts
  • Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts
  • Pendry Hotels and Resorts
  • Virgin Hotels

Perks of booking a stay with The Edit include:

  • A $100 property credit
  • Daily breakfast for two
  • Early check-in and late checkout (if available)
  • Room upgrades (if available)

All travel booked via Chase Travel — including The Edit reservations — earns 8 points per dollar spent.

But similar to the popular $300 travel credit (which does not have to be used within Chase Travel), the $500 The Edit credit does not earn Ultimate Rewards points. You'll begin earning points on Chase Travel purchases once you've used up The Edit credit.

How to maximize The Edit credit on Sapphire Reserve cards

With a $795 annual fee on either the Sapphire Reserve or the Sapphire Reserve for Business, maximizing their perks is important. You want to make sure the value you get out of a card with a big price tag is worth it.

Luckily, there are multiple ways to maximize this credit. For one, you can use your Sapphire Reserve card to pay for a hotel within The Edit, receive $250 in statement credits, and use your Ultimate Rewards points (with heightened value if the stay is Points Boost-eligible) to cover the rest of your stay.

TPG contributing editor Matt Moffitt used his $250 credit toward a stay at the Urso Hotel and Spa in Madrid, Spain, which lowered the $847.31 price tag for two nights to $597.31. From there, he was able to use 29,850 Chase points to cover the remaining costs of the stay, as the property was Points Boost eligible at a value of 2 cents per point.

You can also maximize the value of The Edit credit by booking your travel together, whether it's a flight and a rental car, a few nights at a hotel or a fun activity on your next trip.

Bottom line

The Edit credit on the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business is a solid perk for cards with high annual fees.

If you want to get the most value from your Sapphire Reserve card, maxing out the statement credits — and using the benefits associated with booking a stay at one of The Edit properties, such as the $100 property credit — is a good place to start.
