There's a major hotel shake-up on Hollywood's famed Sunset Strip: The Mondrian Los Angeles is becoming a Curio Collection by Hilton property.

Rumors had been flying around that a change was coming to The Mondrian Los Angeles, but it has now been confirmed. The hotel has joined Hilton Honors as The Valorian Los Angeles, Curio Collection by Hilton.

A staple of the Sunset Strip, the hotel originally opened in 1996 and underwent a massive redesign in 2018. Now the hotel "introduces a refined new identity that honors its cultural legacy while ushering the property into a new era in West Hollywood," according to a statement on the project.

Pivot — the lifestyle arm of Davidson Hospitality and a notable player in the hotel space — will oversee hotel operations.

Beyond the name change and reflagging as a Hilton Honors property, much of The Valorian will feel familiar to the iconic Mondrian Los Angeles, including its focus on art and its design-forward rooms that are both trendy and comfortable.

One big change is the introduction of White Rabbit Sky Lounge, formerly SkyBar. White Rabbit Sky Lounge will continue to offer rooftop views that stretch from the Hollywood Hills to downtown, but it'll feature new day-to-night programming and cocktail menus.

The original hotel's Casa Madera restaurant will continue operating without change.

"The Valorian marks the next evolution of a hotel that has long helped define the Sunset Strip," Randy Diamond, regional vice president of operations for Pivot, said in the statement. "We are preserving the edge, creativity and sense of occasion that made this property iconic, while elevating the guest experience through a refined new identity, Hilton's global platform, and the introduction of White Rabbit Sky Lounge for the next era of West Hollywood."

How to book The Valorian, Curio Collection by Hilton

Already integrated into the Hilton Honors program, cash rates at The Valorian start around $346 or 90,000 Hilton Honors points per night.
